The Ear Wax Centre

Angela* who is a 59-year-old female was reported by the carers to becoming more unsteady on her feet over the past three days. Whilst her Motor Neurone Disease was causing her deconditioning over the past 3 years, her carers called HyCare’s on call doctor and was later found to have extensive left sided occluded wax build up which was also causing her pain

HyCare doctors referred her to The Ear Wax Clinic for management with concerns that ongoing pain and balance issues could cause a heighten risk of falls. Angela had her ear micro-suctioned in her own home and it was later found that she had an external ear infection requiring medication and GP follow up. A letter was sent to her GP to notify him of this issue and some recommendations.

The Ear Wax Clinic is managed by both registered nursing and medical doctors and is complimentary to HyCare clients. There is no cost to your NDIS funding plan
