Activities of Daily Living

At HyCare, we are committed to delivering person-centred, respectful, and high-quality supports that enable our clients to live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible. Our support workers supervise, prompt, and assist clients with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to their client’s individual care plans, with continued reassessment for best practices.

HyCare
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Leo Buscaglia

Our approach focuses on promoting independence rather than creating dependence. Staff are trained to support clients to be involved in completing tasks themselves when it is safe and appropriate, to the extent of their capacity.

What Are Activities of Daily Living?

Activities of Daily Living are essential everyday tasks that a person performs to maintain their health, hygiene, wellbeing, and independence. Some clients may require minimal assistance, while others may need full support depending on their physical, cognitive, or medical needs.
