According to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, people with disability are at risk of dental and oral disease, which can have detrimental effects on that person’s quality of life, general health, and functional impact caused by bleeding, pain, and nutritional deficits. It also states that NDIS providers are “required” to support, maintain, and access oral health services. Although the NDIS does not specifically fund for dental services, it is the responsibility of the service provider to:
- Plan access to oral care
- Assist with routine daily oral care
- Support the participant to visit the dentist; and
- Follow up on oral care
At HyCare, our clients have access to dental support. Through our complimentary program, we have custom built several mobile dental clinics to support our clients and careers with yearly preventative dental services. We have clinics with wheel chair lifter access. There is no cost to your NDIS plan funding and is only available to our clients who meet our criteria of services.
